Check out this Beautiful 1970 Plymouth Road Runner two door, pro touring sports coupe that has undergone a complete overhaul under the previous owner's ownership, as well a five-year restoration which was completed in 2017, This Roadrunner received a top-2-bottom refresh that included body and paint work, modernized interior, aluminum wheels, disc braking system, an overhauled suspension, motor upgrades and much more. This First-Generation Road Runner will include its owner's manuals and lots of receipts from its restoration.
This 1970 Road Runner has an RM21 pillared coupe body style and is completed in a Rallye Red Paint with Black Matte Accents on the exterior. This exterior was resealed with two-part urethane sealant as well as an epoxy base primer, topped with a urethane topcoat. The bumpers, vent window frames, and other trim accents were re-chromed. Exterior seals were replaced as well.
Sitting under the hood of this 1970 is a rebuilt replacement 440C.I. V8 engine which was bored .030 over by Keen's Automotive Center in Smithfield, VA and was tuned by PRT Tuning. Features new forged crank, pistons, rods along with TTI headers, 3” Exhaust system, Griffin aluminum radiator, brushless colling fans and an EFI fuel tank with Walbro pump. Other upgrades include Milodon oil pan, an Edelbrock top end kit, an Edelbrock EFI intake and throttle body, MegaSquirt turner software for the sequential EFI system, D585 coils, dual Zeitronix wideband AFR meters, March pulley aluminum serpentine kit, Painless wiring, and a 140-amp alternator. The power is then pushed to the rear wheels via a rebuilt 3-speed Chrysler A-727 TorqueFlite Automatic transmission w/Gear Vendor overdrive unit, having a Derale Performance transmission cooler/fan and a Posi traction Dana 60 3.73 rear end.
Looking inside this beauty it's sporting a beautiful refurbished Black Vinyl Interior. This all-black interior was converted from its original bench seat w/column shift to Bucket Seats with a floor shifter, complete refurbishment of the re-padded upholstery, door panels, headliner, carpeting and embroidered Plymouth floor mats. A three-point seatbelt system in both front and rear, Vintage Air A/C system, B & M floor shifter and a Retro Sound Radio, replacement gauges from Dakota Digital, including 160-mph speedometer, 8K-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. Miles on the Odometer are since restoration, the actual mileage on the chassis is unknown. On the inside of the trunk, you will find a relocated Odyssey gel battery with billet tray and quick-disconnect.
Looking underneath you will find this Road Runner retains its factory undercoating. Has 5-Spoke polished 18” Aluminum American Racing Wheels fitted with Nitto Tires. Suspension that was overhauled using Moog Front components, reinforced lower control arms, and firm feel upper control arms. The rear handling is provided by new leaf springs with AR Engineering hanger brackets. The braking system was upgraded to stainless-steel lines, Front discs with Disc-O-Tech components, rebuilt Bendix double-diaphragm and CVR electric vacuum pump for the brake booster, and a rebuilt power steering gear box.
This 1970 Plymouth Road Runner Restomod is a beautiful classic. Any collector or enthusiast would love to own this Road Runner and it won't last long!
